Sisters Jancove

We are Ivka and Zuzi (Ivana & Zuzana Jančová) – a sister creative duo creating comics since 2018. We combine storytelling and visual art into narratives that engage children and youth, while naturally developing values, critical thinking and empathy.

Our work is built on one principle: learning through story. We translate complex topics into a visual narrative language that feels natural to children – and therefore works.

Our portfolio includes original and educational projects such as Eco & Tank and its sequel Tank & Co., the anti-discrimination fairytale The Black-Haired Prince, the dystopian story Zone 300, the adventure comic Adam: The Secret of Lost Heritage, and a comic published as an official educational tool in a 4th-grade Reader’s Book (AITEC).

We also collaborate on larger partner-led projects, such as TIPOS (prevention and responsible gaming 18+), and work on international titles including graphic novels about Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappé.

Our goal is to create comics that are not only entertaining, but meaningful – and to bring narrative-based learning into education in a format children willingly return to.

Illustration • visual design

I create the complete visual layer of our comics – from sketches and page composition, through inking to final colouring. I work with colour, atmosphere and emotion so the visual language supports the story’s theme (ecology, prevention, values, discrimination).

Writer • storyteller

I write scripts, build characters and narrative worlds. I focus on making even complex social topics work through experience rather than moralising. I also develop educational methodologies that connect comics with non-formal education in schools, libraries and workshops.

Education with real impact – offline and online

Our workshops are supported by the Slovak Arts Council (FPU), TIPOS – prevention and responsible gaming 18+ and the Milan Dubec Foundation. We bring topics like ecology, values and media literacy into schools, libraries and cultural institutions.
